Frank

Brit Iron Rebels # 292

There are those who merely live and those who truly live.  Frank was unmistakably a man who lived life with punctuation and energy.  He made every moment count and his spirit left an indelible mark on all of us.

Frank started life as the oldest boy with three sisters.  His father passed away at an early age and with his mom working as a housekeeper, Frank immediately took responsibility for the family.  In addition to helping his mother, he also stepped into the role of father to guide and watch over his younger sisters, assisting them with school, homework and moral guidance.  When Frank graduated high school, he put himself through college at USC and got a degree in Chemical Engineering.  From there he worked for oil companies and got to travel around the United States.

Frank

In addition, Frank was also an accomplished runner and athlete.  He competed in marathons and enjoyed competition.  He ran throughout the Rocky Mountains and in the Sierra Nevada.

Frank and Bonnie

Still seeking more challenges, Frank was also an accomplished pilot and loved flying around Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and California.  And of course, Frank loved fast cars and motorcycles.  He owned several high-end sports cars including a classic Corvette and a Porsche GT3.  However, it was his love of motorcycles where we find our connection with Frank.  Frank enjoyed not simply fast motorcycles, but classic bikes with style and panache.  He especially enjoyed Triumphs and had several of them.  He was mostly seen on his blue and white Bonneville SE, with the machined aluminum side covers and Moon Eyes stickers.

Frank at the Toss

Frank spent most of his time in the BIR with the successful Mile High Rippers.  After Frank took a job with a firm in the Bakersfield area, he was accepted as an honorary LA Clan member.  Our last visit with Frank took place in May 2015 during the Crank Toss.

Farewell Frank

Frank’s body is sadly gone, but his indomitable spirit lives on in each of us.  He represents the very best which each of us in the BIR aspire to be.  Rest in peace Frank and Godspeed.  You will be missed…
