BECOMING A BIR MEMBER

MEET US
After we receive your application, we'll contact you. If you meet the basic qualifications, you will be invited to meet and ride with your local BIR Clan.  If there is no Clan in your area, you'll discuss your interest and candidacy with a BIR Worldwide representative.

YOUR CANDIDACY PERIOD
If the BIR determines that you are a candidate for membership, you will be subscribed to the BIR members-only Worldwide forum for a Candidacy Period of 3 months (6 months if you have no local clan). You must introduce yourself and your bike/s to the membership, and participate actively in forum discussions, so that other members can get to know you. If you live in or near a BIR Clan territory, you must also actively pursue membership by participating in at least 3 BIR rides/events during your Candidacy Period.

MEMBERSHIP INVITATION
At the end of your Candidacy Period, if you've demonstrated strong interest and have met the requirements, you'll be eligible for membership. If you have a local Clan, they will vote on your membership. If you have no local Clan, you'll need at least one BIR member to “sponsor” your membership in BIR Worldwide by posting a recommendation on the BIR forum. If there is support from the membership, and if there are no objections, you'll receive an email from the BIR, inviting you to join.

ACCEPTING MEMBERSHIP
If you receive an invitation to join, pay the $25 membership fee and you'll  be assigned a BIR Member Number. You'll get continued access to the BIR Forum and you'll receive a BIR Membership Welcome Package by US mail with a membership card, pin, patch and decals. Once a member, you may purchase member-only BIR swag (t-shirts, jackets, buckles, decals and more) and attend BIR member-only events.

TO SUM IT ALL UP:
The BIR will be a fun thing and a positive addition to your life.  The BIR is not out to cram the gospel of the Rocker/Hooligan bike culture down anyone’s throat.  These are simply the bike styles and lifestyles that we identify with.  Enjoy the Club, and enjoy the ride!
